About our B&B
The B&B comprises the top two floors of a house of five floors. Our family, father and mother and two daughters aged 9 and 11 years living on the lower three floors. We share the front door and hallway. Then you go up the stairs to the upper floors. On the third floor is the kitchen with the beautiful view. The two double bedrooms and bathroom are also on this floor. On the top floor is the living room and roof terrace with breathtaking views of IJburg and the IJsselmeer (former southern sea). You'll feel right at home and relaxed!
About The neighbourhood
IJburg is a relatively new and trendy area close to the center of Amsterdam. It takes about 15-20 minutes in the tram that departs from here within walking distance and goes to Amsterdam Central Station. Also within walking distance are nice and trendy shops, restaurants, bars, a beach with a hip beach bar, a large supermarket and a nature reserve.
About us
We are a family of 4 and have designed and built this great house for the last couple of years. The architect is Marc Koehler Architects (MKA) and in cooperation this 5 floors high house is the result. We care about the environment so the house is built from wood and a little bit of steal support the construction. the energy comes from solar panels on the roof. The exterior of the house is burnt wood, a technique from Japan to preserve the wood. Everything in the house is designed and decorated with care and we are sure you will feel right at home like we love our house ourselves.
Review from Suzy (US):
Amazing stay at the Lake View Apartment
Really enjoyed our stay at the Lake View Apartments for a long weekend exploring Amsterdam. Great location if you do not want to pay the prices in the city centre but have an amazing view and great facilities. The apartment is a 5min walk from 'Diemerparklaan' tram station and takes roughly a further 15mins on the tram itself to Amsterdam Central. The apartment is very modern with a great area to chill out with super commutable sofa's and a balcony with a view. Our host Joyce was very accommodating letting us check in a lot earlier than we was suppose to due to a early flight and being eager to drop off our bags and head back towards the City Centre combined with the information she gave us over email when we originally booked the stay. You can obviously tell Joyce puts a lot of heart into the place and keeping her customers informed, comfortable and happy.
Trying to think of anything we didn't like but there really wasn't anything that we was unsatisfied about during the stay. The only thing we didn't like was leaving Amsterdam and flying back home!
